Debunking 3 Common Wedding Planning Myths

For many of those in the midst of planning the wedding of their wildest dreams, even the smallest of details is critical to the overall experience. One thing that leads many couples astray when planning their special day are misleading misconceptions about the essentials, such as reception halls, guest lists, and budgets. Here are some common myths about the wedding planning process.

    1. Myth: Hiring a wedding planner is just too expensive.
Believe it or not, wedding planner packages are often much more affordable than you might think. Plus, they truly do offer countless benefits that take a tremendous amount of stress off of the couple. The Huffington Post says, “Not only can a wedding planner help you stay organized and suggest incredible never-been-done ideas, but she can also end up saving you thousands and keep you on track with your budget! Many planners work closely with florists, rental companies and other pros and often have access to industry discounts, which they can pass along to you. Not a bad deal, eh?”

    1. Myth: Every good wedding has to follow all standard traditions.
This is a completely bogus myth. In fact, more often than not, the most memorable weddings are the ones that are totally unique and don’t conform to any arbitrary standard. Don’t feel like you have to follow any of the cheesy wedding traditions, such as wearing a white gown, having a bouquet toss, or creating a wedding registry. You and your significant other should embrace the fact that you can do almost anything you want at your wedding and take the time to figure out how to make it as special as possible.

  1. Myth: Weddings can usually be planned in just two months.
Most brides (30%) plan their weddings for seven to 12 months, so unless you’re working on planning your wedding almost full time, it’s almost impossible to do in just two months. Plus, there’s no reason to rush the process and make it more stressful than it has to be. Take your time and enjoy the process from beginning to end.

Ultimately, it’s important to be aware of these myths so that you and your significant other can be successful in all your wedding planning endeavors. For more information about reception halls or banquet halls in Miami, contact Renaissance Miami.
