How Early Should You Book Your Venue?

The venue you choose for your wedding or other celebration will set the stage for your entire event. You need to choose one that is large enough to accommodate all of your guests. In addition to the size, you will want to make sure the venue is easily accessible and offers all of the features and amenities you are looking for.

Do Your Research

It’s important to do your research before you put down a hefty deposit. Once the deposit has been paid, you are locked into the deal and canceling will cost you all or most of your money. There are several questions you should ask before you sign on the dotted line. They include:

• Do they have catering staff?
• Is valet parking offered?
• Who is responsible for clean up/tear down?
• How soon do you get access to the venue prior to the event taking place?

Ask your friends and family if they know of anyone who has rented the venue in the past? Do they recommend it?

Book Early!

The best venues always book quickly. The rule of thumb is if you are trying to book a popular venue, don’t expect it to simply be available. You will want to book your venue nine months to a year in advance to ensure that you get the date you want. Waiting too long may mean that you have to go with your second choice.
