Tips for Making the Right Catering Choices for Your Party Guests

Summertime often means an influx of parties and celebrations. According to Zippia, there are expected to be 2.24 million American weddings throughout 2023. Whether you’re hosting a graduation celebration or a wedding reception, there’s so much to consider when choosing the right banquet halls, such as your catering options. To ensure guests leave your party with a fully satisfied belly, here are some tips for making the right catering choices.

The Guest List

Before going down the menu, take an accurate headcount. Check your guest list and see how many people plan to attend. This planning stage is the time to consider age groups and overall food choices. For example, if most of your guests are vegetarians, that can have a huge effect on the type of food you choose. Plus, knowing how many people will be there can also ensure that you don’t under or over-order the amount of food needed.

Entree Options

Avoid having only one entree option for such a large event. It would be a shame if some people’s food allergies were not considered. A good rule of thumb is to have at least two or three entree options available. Mix it up with at least one meat, one seafood, and one plant-based option. If you don’t want to include seafood, aim to have two different meat options, like one chicken and one beef dish, along with a vegetarian or vegan dish.

Consider Food Intolerances

Some guests may have food allergies. Common food allergies include nuts, soy, and seafood. Aim to include gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options or adjustments to your main entrees. Play it safe by asking guests to check a box about food intolerances when they RSVP.

Serving Style

Banquet halls usually have options for serving styles. You can decide on a buffet or table service. If the party has a lot of older attendees, it may be best to have waiter service, as getting up to go to the buffet may be difficult for people with mobility issues.

You have lots to consider as you look at banquet halls to host your fun celebration. As you decide on decorations, location, and table settings, don’t forget to feed your guests properly. If you have any questions about catering tips, contact our team at Renaissance Miami for assistance.
