Popular Wedding Traditions and How They Have Changed
The wedding day has been one of the biggest days in a person’s life throughout history. It marks the beginning of a new life with another person. However, when it comes to the traditional wedding, much has changed. All inclusive wedding packages have given brides and grooms new options to older traditions, putting a new face on weddings.
The White Wedding Dress
Old traditions dictated that new brides were to wear new white dresses. Those who didn’t wear white were thought to be impure. Today, however, things have changed. While many brides do still choose white for their wedding day, others add colorful accents or choose off-white or another color. Likewise, brides who are on a second wedding may choose white.
Matching Bridesmaid Dresses
In the past, bridesmaids all wore the same dress style in the same color to provide a uniform look. Today, especially for all inclusive wedding packages at a destination, brides are likely to choose different styles or even different colors for their bridesmaids. In some cases, brides may give their attendants a list of requirements and allow them to choose their own dresses. After all, bridesmaids are happier when they are comfortable and certain styles don’t look good on everyone.
Church Weddings
Church weddings may still be a popular choice for some couples, but it is no longer seen as a stigma not to be married in a church. More couples are looking for destination, all-inclusive wedding packages over traditional church weddings. Other options couples are likely to choose include backyard ceremonies, park weddings or even beach weddings. The options are endless.
Getting married is still one of the most important days in a couple’s life. However, what used to be tradition in regard to weddings has largely changed. With all the changes, brides and grooms have more freedom to put together a day that truly reflects their personalities and styles.
